Most likely one of three things: the gearbox has failed (key turns but hooks don't engage), the door has dropped (mechanism out of alignment with the keeps), or one of the hooks/deadbolts is bent. A quick diagnostic on-site usually identifies it within 5 minutes.
How much does a uPVC gearbox cost?
It depends on the brand and complexity of the gearbox and the parts it needs, so we quote on inspection. We carry common Yale, Era, and Avocet gearboxes in the van, and we confirm a fixed price before any work starts.
Can you fix a uPVC door that's dropped?
Yes — usually adjustable. uPVC doors have adjustable hinges that compensate for sagging over time. We offer a full alignment service, and if the hinges themselves are worn out we quote for replacement parts plus labour.
