What we cover under Emergency Lockout

uPVC door lockouts

The most common emergency in UK homes. We pick the cylinder open without breaking it — 9 out of 10 jobs take under 15 minutes once we arrive. If the lock is too damaged to pick, we replace the cylinder on the spot.

Mortice lockouts (wooden doors)

Traditional 5-lever mortice locks need a different approach. We use proper picking technique — no drilling unless the lock is already broken internally. Standard mortice lockouts: 15–30 minutes on site.

Night latch lockouts

Yale-style night latches on flats and older properties. Quick entry method, usually under 10 minutes if the lock isn't damaged.

Commercial premises

Office, retail, warehouse lockouts handled with the same urgency as residential. We carry security clearance and ID — happy to deal with managers, security teams, or alarm companies on arrival.

Car & vehicle lockouts

See our dedicated car lockout service for details — same technician, same response time, different toolkit.

Lockout — frequently asked questions

Will you damage my lock to get me in?

No — not if we can avoid it. 9 out of 10 lockouts are solved by picking, which leaves the lock fully functional. We only drill if the lock is already damaged internally and picking is impossible.

Do I need to prove the property is mine?

For a rental or shared property, yes — we'll ask for ID and confirm you're authorised to enter. This protects everyone. For your own home, a quick verbal confirmation and a glance at post addressed to you is usually enough.

How much does an emergency lockout cost?

Standard uPVC lockouts: £69. Mortice door lockouts: £89. Night latches: £79. Out-of-hours (10pm–6am): +£20 surcharge. If your cylinder is damaged and needs replacing, add £25–£120 for parts depending on security grade.
